Our Research and Development department consists of experts who are points of contact for business partners, customers and suppliers. The range of tasks consists of:
Development of new forms of heat exchangers, components and manufacturing process
Production and development of software for sizing refrigerators
Development of heat exchangers for new application areas
When required, an existing design can also be enhanced with modern simulation tools in terms of heating technology, flow configuration and lifetime.
Once the structure of a new heat exchanger has been created, Vistherm can make its own prototypes in its own Sample Manufacturing department. There is a wide range of measurement and testing equipment available for final certification.
Its own software that calculates simulation, performance measurement and service life is completed with modern simulation software. Thanks to digital flow simulation, the individual components of a heat exchanger are optimized for flow properties and intense heat transfer. Optimum incorporation of the cooling system into the customer's installation site often means more than just a delivery, and this can be seen as part of the business development work. However, equally important is ensuring that the mechanical durability is in line with the product requirements. AKG's software for life estimation is supported by FEM calculations to allow critical component loads based on reliable determination of high pressure, temperature fluctuations and vibrations.
Research and Development also includes Sample Production, where refrigerants have become a practical product for the first time. Here, in addition to the known forms of cooler design, experienced sample makers produce completely new designs that can be subjected to the first practical tests. The range of heat exchangers made in our company encompasses everything from heat exchangers that are only a few cubic centimeters in size for portable fuel cells to refrigeration systems built for the world's largest construction machinery.
